So, my parents live in rural Oklahoma. They get the internet, but it takes FOREVER for the dial-up to engage, etc, etc, etc. Anyway, my brother and I were debating the cashew...whether or not it came from a tree or the ground. I voted the ground. I had heard from someone not to eat cashews bc they are harvested from the dirt, so pestisides and various bugs get into them. So, we were gonna look it up on the internet, but decided it wasn't worth the dial-up trouble. So, mom goes into the bedroom, dusts off her handy Britannica that I remember using for book reports, etc in junior high in the 80's (they were old then), and she finds that I'm wrong. Tree fruit. Oh well. Chalk one up for my mom...maker of good chex mix and settler of sibling disputes via a good old fashioned BOOK.
For those who care, I did get plenty of East Coast dressing and had my fill of enchiladas and, yes, cashews
