Vacation, Day 3

So far, I've confirmed a meeting tomorrow with an employee of the OKC Memorial in collections. I'm especially interested in the idea of memory and collective identity. I want to talk to her about the archives of personal memorbilia they might have there. I'm working with an old fellow phd student on a memory article, so this will be a really good mtg for me.

I've also russled up some old syllabi for the Linguistics course I'll probably teach, contacted someone about getting my phd robe repaired/replaced bc it's seams are loose already, AND I've started the editing I need to do.

I finished up the editing/mentoring. It's part of my job as an Asst Ed to mentor authors through the revisions the eds asked them to make. So, I've been doing that for the last three months. Today, I helped with organizing an index page, reminded the author of some development he needs to do with his argument, and I tracked down some code he could use for a pop up problem he was having. It took about 3 hours, I guess. So, another half day of "vacation" gone to business stuff.
