It's not safe to leave the house

the wasps are mad and have been dive-bombing us. It makes rural-life a bit more exciting, especially since they genuinely give us the willies. Spouse has been stung 2x this year - both on the head, and I had a bad sting on the arm.

had a knee evaluation on Thurs. Not good news. My strength in comparison to my L leg is between 53% and 57% in quad strength...I'm at 74% in hamstring strength. They like you at 60% or better. So, they really expected me to be in the 70's in both muscle groups bc I was doing so well when I stopped pt. So, I have to ramp up therapy, which means being sore, which sucks. They didn't take my t-shirt away, though, and I don't have to have official pt, I just need to kick my own ass.

spent most of the day at a conference in OKC yesterday. I was on a panel with some colleagues. One talked about Zen, I talked Kaizen, and the last Aikido. We all talked about applying those philosophies in writing, writing instruction, the writing classroom and life. We had about 20 people in our session, which is good for a regional conference. We originally were only going to go, not participate, bc we wanted to hear the speaker, Ira Shor. We left the speech early. The guy is obviously a genius and has a heart for teaching, but he was hard to listen to...maybe it's because he had a bad fall that am and was all bound up in a sling and maybe on meds. The room had awful sound, too, so that could have been part of it...alot of the time he sounded like Charlie Brown's teacher. Who knows? Anyway, maybe my colleagues and I can write an article from our talk - it turned out really cool.

Pasta plans for tonight at a Little Italy about an hour from here - Krebs, Oklahoma.
