conference

Was in Albuquerque, NM for four nights at the SWTX PCA/ACA conference. I presented on feminism, post-9/11 rhetorics and LOST on Wed afternoon and spent most of TR and F in presentations. I am full up with ideas:

1. tech writing/linguistic class ideas
2. pub ideas
3. research ideas
4. new media identity ideas
5. what NOT to do ideas

yummy, right?

Plus, I ate alot of really good food and celebrated my birthday with good friends. bonus.

don't read a paper...present it.
don't talk about really technical stuff like spaces and abbreviations with out visuals
don't pace
be approachable
know the audience...it's not about YOU
be humble, but smart
don't wear tight jeans with a shirt tucked in and no belt

I wish I would've known some of those not to do things before the conference.

Yeah, I agree. Why doesn't everyone understand this to-don't list?
